Orlando may have started out as a sleepy little southern town- filled with acres of orange groves and farmland as far as the eye could see, however now, thanks in great part to the Mouse (Mickey that is), it has become one of the worlds most popular vacation destinations. Each and every year, millions of people from around the globe travel to Orlando to experience its seemingly unending array of attractions.
Orlando is home to 8 (soon to be 9) world class theme parks of which Disney claims 4, Universal Orlando 2, with SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and their yet to be built sister-water park claiming the remaining 3. There are also an abundance of smaller (and in some cases wonderfully unique) attractions.
The Mouses House is now brimming with four uniquely themed theme parks, two splashy and spectacular water parks, several smaller attractions including, but not limited to, DisneyQuest and Circque du Soleil, an entertainment, shopping and dining district, scores of themed resorts, a vacation club, a plethora of restaurants, and even its own cruise line with twotremendous cruise ships. Universal Orlando now offers two distinctly unique and edgy theme parks, three luxury resorts, a sister-water park, and an entertainment district thats filled with an eclectic collection of restaurants, clubs, shops, and entertainment venues. And SeaWorld makes quite a splash with its two (soon to be three) eco-edutainment themed adventure parks.
Restaurants are plentiful and range in offerings from five-star fine dining to fast food on the fly. Hotels and resorts (with more than 114,000 rooms, villas, and suites amongst them - and countless more on their way) are abundant as well. Youll find everything from back-to-basic motel-style establishments to luxurious destination-style resorts and everything in between.
Orlando is an ever changing destination. It continually evolves, grows, and expands - all to ensure that your experiences will to.
