Recent Renovations at Orlando Area Hotels & Resorts include:

The Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa has completed a $45 million renovation that included the redesign of is 1,012 guest rooms. New room amenities include LG 32-inch LCD flat-panel HD televisions, Herman Miller ergonomic chairs, wired and wireless Internet access and new bedding. The property also opened Kook Sports Bar, offering lunch and dinner. A new lobby is scheduled to debut in June while a six venue event space will open in late summer on the hotels 27th floor which was formerly Arthurs 27.

Hyatt Corporation is converting four of its Orlando AmeriSuites hotels to a new brand, Hyatt Place. The hotelstwo near Orlando International Airport, one on International Drive and another near Universal Orlando Resortwill undergo major renovations starting in 2007. Changes include redesigned lobbies with self-serve check-in and checkout kiosks. Hyatt also plans to build a Hyatt Place in Lake Mary. Most of the properties in the new line will have approximately 100 rooms.

Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort completed a $6.8 million renovation of all 650 guest rooms and suites, which now include 32-inch flat panel televisions and MP3 landing stations with connectivity to in-room stereo systems. The room renovations create an overall impression of urban chic, with a sophisticated palette of warm neutrals, chocolate brown, aqua and lime. The renovation also includes a complete upgrade of bedding linens, carpet, wall paint and granite tops on the mini bars. New artwork of rock stars receiving gold and platinum albums has been added to each room as well.

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, located on the 400-acre Summer Bay Resort property, has added a new line of luxury condos. The condos include a leather and granite furniture package, upgraded bedding and a 53-inch television. The hotel has also added a new menu of catered options, from boxed lunches and buffets to catered events with experienced service staff.

Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista, a three-property gated resort community within minutes of the Walt Disney World Resort, underwent a $5 million makeover. Upgrades and renovations were completed in Courtyard by Marriotts lobby, lobby bar, cafe and public areas; Spring Hill Suites lobby, guest rooms and breakfast venue and Fairfield Inns guest rooms. The fitness centers at all three resorts were also renovated.

The Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld completed a $8.7 million renovation to its 778 guest rooms and suites. The atrium, front desk, lobby bar and gift shop were also refurbished, as was the meeting space.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort completed the most recent phase of a $60 million redesign project which unveiled new lobbies, public spaces and a $500,000 contemporary art program. In addition, all pre-function and meeting rooms were upgraded with new decor. Still to come are redesigned presidential and executive suites, featuring upgraded, elegant bathroom and bedroom interiors.
