Does the Hotel or Resort Offer the Following Guest Services?

-a concierge desk (and if it is available for all guests or only club or concierge level guests)

-a guest services desk (and what services they offer)

-daily housekeeping service

-evening turndown service

-laundry, coin operated (and what the cost is per load along with whether laundry supplies are available)

-valet laundry service (and what the cost is)

-self parking (and what the cost is, if any)

-valet parking (and what the cost is)

-shuttle service to the attractions (and what the costs are along with what attractions it services)

-limo service (and what the costs are)

-a car rental desk (what rental company as well as the cost to rent)

-onsite restaurants (what they are, who they cater to, when they’re open, and what they serve)


-room service (what it costs, when it’s available, and what food is available)

-local dining delivery service (usually offered through an outside service)

-onsite convenience store (and what they sell)

-internet service (what type is available, where it is available, and what the costs are to access it)

-wakeup service (wakeup calls)

-ATM’s (keep in mind that fees may apply to use the machine if it isn’t associated with your bank)

-airline check-in, boarding pass, and luggage services

-foreign exchange (what fees are associated with exchanging money)

-safety deposit boxes (what, if any, charge there is to use them)

-wheelchair rental (what the cost, if any, is)

-a barber and or beauty shop (what services are offered and what they cost)

-a spa (what services are offered and what the costs are)

-child care (see details below)

-assistive devices for guests with disabilities (and if there are costs involved)

-vending machines

-a florist

-a newsstand

-a gift shop

-a convenience store (what do they carry)

-retail shops (what type and what do they carry)

-a business center (what services are offered and what they cost)

-security

-expedited check-in and check-out via the TV, kiosks, internet, video, or other method

-are pets allowed (and if so what are the costs involved)

-and what additional services do they offer


Child Care
-Is supervised child care available onsite at the hotel or resort

-Who provides the service (through the hotel or through an outside sitting service)?

-What is the cost of the program?

-When is the program available (what days and what hours)?

-What activities, meals, and so on are included?

-Where is it available (in-room, at a club or activity room located within the hotel, or both)?

-How do you sign up – are reservations required, permission forms required, or other documents required?

-What are the credentials of the counselors supervising or running the program?

-What happens in the case of an emergency?

-Are there scheduled children’s activities (what are they, when are they available, and what is the cost [if any] to participate)?


Does the Hotel or Resort Offer the Following In-Room Amenities?
-air conditioning

-an alarm clock

-bottled water (and if there is a fee)

-coffee maker (and if coffee or tea along with the necessary condiments are stocked – and if there is a charge for replacing them)

-a crib

-internet access (what type [WiFi, cable, phone, web TV, etc…], what are the costs associated with using the service, and if cables are required are they available through the hotel and at what charge if any)

-an iron and an ironing board

-an in-room safe

-separate closet space and or storage area for luggage and clothing

-special bedding

-pull out sofa

-rollaway bed

-bathrobes

-a TV (how many and what type)

-cable access, pay movies

-a VCR (and if rental movies are available and at what cost)

-a video game system (and if video games are available to rent and at what cost)

-a mini bar (and what the cost is to replace the items)

-CD player

-a telephone (how many, what type [corded or cordless], what features does it have [voice mail, speakerphone, one or two line] as well as what the charges are for local and long distance calls)

-separate vanity area

-closet space

-hair dryers

-bath amenities (soap, shampoo, razor…and are they free of charge or available only at an additional cost)

-a makeup mirror

-does the room have a bath tub and or a shower or both

-and what additional amenities are available

Be Sure to Check for Bonuses like…

-Kids Stay Free (generally kids under 17)

-Free Breakfasts (however be sure to check whether it’s simply a continental breakfast or a buffet breakfast [and if it includes hot items, cold items, made to order items, and so on] as well as who, and how many in your family, it is available to.

-Welcome Goody Bags or Some Type of Promotional Merchandise for the Kids

- A Kids Check-In Desk

- Kid-Friendly Menus at the Restaurants

- Afternoon or Evening Receptions that Feature Free Drinks and Snacks for Guests

- Child Care Programs

-Kid-Friendly Amenities (Like a Mini-Movie Theater, Kid-Friendly Pools, Playgrounds, Rooms with Separate Sleeping Areas for the Kids, and so on…)

-Children’s Activity Programs

-Movie and Video Game Rentals

-Onsite Convenience Stores that Sell Snacks, Drinks, and Supplies

-Free daily newspapers

-Free morning coffee

-Free Internet (and if it’s available in-room, in public areas, or where) -Free phone calls (and what calls are included)

-a pool (and how extensive it is)

-a children’s pool, toddler pool, and similar

-hot tub, whirlpools

-bike trails (and if they offer bike rentals)

-fishing (and what the costs are)

-water sports (what rentals are available and what they cost)

-tennis (and if they offer rental equipment)

-boating (if they offer rentals and or excursions and what the costs are)

-golf courses (and if they offer rental clubs, what the costs are for the clubs, and what the green fees run)

-spa (what services they offer and what they cost)
