Throughout this site I’ve included a multitude of travel tips and a dash or two of advice here and there hoping that it will help you to survive your family vacation in central Florida. I say “survive” not to be funny but to make you completely aware of the fact that a vacation to Orlando - or anywhere else in central Florida - with kids in tow truly requires a great deal of effort, hard work, and, most importantly plenty of patience. As much as we would all like it if Tinker Bell would sprinkle her pixie dust all about, making the entire endeavor effortless and uncomplicated, this is unfortunately just not the case. I can’t stress enough how important it is that you be realistic, as difficult as that may be to swallow, when planning and executing a vacation in central Florida.
That said - Enjoy!

What You Should Know before You Go
If you truly want to have a fun-filled family vacation, a little pre-planning can really go a long way toward making that happen. A family vacation, especially to a destination like central Florida, is a huge investment of time and money, and expectations will be running extremely high. Simply winging it just won’t do. I am not suggesting that you plan every last minute of every day, but I do strongly recommend roughing out an itinerary (and include with it a wish list that includes absolutely everything that you would like to see and do) before you go – the rough itinerary including only what you and your family would MOST like to see and do. Just this much planning can make the difference between a great vacation experience and a miserable one that will leave everyone feeling unsatisfied and disappointed.

The last thing you want is to find yourself returning home thinking about how you should have done things differently, wishing you had known better beforehand, or resolving that you’ll do better next year – especially as there may not be a next year for some.
